Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 26, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Ballistics.rs and the ballistics-engine software collect, use, and protect your data. We are committed to transparency about our data practices.

2. Local Software (No Data Collection)

Privacy by Default: When using the ballistics-engine CLI without the --online flag, no data is collected or transmitted. All calculations happen locally on your device.

The open source ballistics-engine library and CLI perform all physics calculations locally. No network connections are made, no data is sent anywhere, and no information about your usage is collected.

3. Online Service Data Collection

When you explicitly opt-in by using the --online flag, your calculation requests are sent to our cloud API. This section details exactly what data is collected.

3.1 Data Collected

The following data is automatically logged when you make an online API request:

3.2 How Data Is Used

Your data is used solely for service delivery:

We do NOT use your data for:

3.3 Data Retention

Request logs are retained for 30 days and are then automatically deleted by Google Cloud Platform's log lifecycle management. We do not maintain any permanent database of your trajectory calculations.

3.4 Data Location and Security

The online service is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Run) in the United States. All data is transmitted over HTTPS encryption. Our infrastructure is subject to Google Cloud's security measures and certifications.

4. Opting Out

You have complete control over whether any data is sent to our servers:

The local physics solver provides accurate trajectory calculations without any network communication.

5. Third-Party Services

Our online service uses the following third-party infrastructure:

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services in our API.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:
